A lot of music videos have landed on the Kenyan scene recently that were either hits or misses. A few names come to mind, some that we loved more than others. And some that Kenyans On Twitter loved to hate.
The makers of hit movies, House of Lungula and Fundi-Mentals, Historia Films, in conjunction with L7empire have released a new music video for the Kenyan hip hop artist Judaking.
This is a music video like no other in Kenya as it was shot entirely in Greece and most particular in the area of Kalamaria where the Greek graffiti and hip hop scene started in the early 90s (Skra Ghetto Boys, Avdela Ghetto Boys etc). Judaking wears at parts of the video the jersey of the local football team Apollon. It is directed by the renowned actress Lizz Njagah’s husband Alexandros Konstantaras.
“Bright days” is a song from Judakings L7empire: Dream and Hussle Ep released late 2016. It poetically talks about the origin of Kenyan hip hop, the artist’s struggle and hustles and a bright future for Kenyan and African hip hop. The song is produced by Roba (life music) at Sub Sahara Entertainment Kenya. The track is all about universal love.
The video was shot on location in Kalamaria, Greece.
Produced by Historia Films.
Directed by Alexandros Konstantaras.
Camera by Stella Delliou.
